Rare Earth:
The Endless Potential

Sustainable Mining Solutions

In situ leaching, is a mining technique used to extract minerals, including certain Rare Earth elements, by dissolving them in a liquid solution underground and then pumping the solution to the surface for further processing. Watch the video above to learn more.

What is Rare Earth

Rare Earth elements are a group of  chemical elements found in the Earth’s crust. Although they are not truly rare, they are challenging to extract economically due to their low concentrations.

Fortunately, Malaysia has been blessed with a significant amount of non-radioactive rare earth deposits. The US Geological Survey (USGS) estimates that some 30,000 metric tonnes of rare earth ores can be found in Peninsular Malaysia (malaymail, 2023).

Electronics

Rare Earth elements are crucial for the manufacturing of electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and televisions.

Vehicles

Rare Earth elements are essential for the production of electric vehicle (EV) components.

Renewable Energy

They are integral components in wind turbines, helping to generate and transmit electricity efficiently. They are also used in the production of solar panels, enabling the conversion of sunlight into electricity.
